Maize spermosphere bacterial endophytes and their biotic and abiotic stress tolerance traits

چکیده

In the present study, 12 bacterial endophytes (C1 to C12) were isolated from three different genotypes of maize seed (COH6). Seed are considered as pioneers plant microbiome and enhance defense response at an early stage crop growth later stages seedling development. The seed-associated exhibit antagonistic property against fungal pathogen (Fusarium oxysporum Macrophomina phaseolina) maize. Among isolates, C11 suppressed mycelial both tested pathogens. Furthermore, selected isolates subjected in vitro abiotic stress tolerance such salt, drought temperature stress. C3, C5, C7, C12 showed increased drought, salt might assist host alleviating ill-effects on On a whole, microbial associated with seeds could be better candidate biotic would develop those consortia for obtaining desirable

Phenotyping for abiotic stress tolerance in maize.

The ability to quickly develop germplasm having tolerance to several complex polygenic inherited abiotic and biotic stresses combined is critical to the resilience of cropping systems in the face of climate change. Molecular breeding offers the tools to accelerate cereal breeding; however, suitable phenotyping protocols are essential to ensure that the much-anticipated benefits of molecular bre...

Abiotic and biotic stress combinations.

Environmental stress conditions such as drought, heat, salinity, cold, or pathogen infection can have a devastating impact on plant growth and yield under field conditions. Nevertheless, the effects of these stresses on plants are typically being studied under controlled growth conditions in the laboratory. The field environment is very different from the controlled conditions used in laborator...

Abiotic stress tolerance and competition-related traits underlie phylogenetic clustering in soil bacterial communities.

Soil bacteria typically coexist with close relatives generating widespread phylogenetic clustering. This has been ascribed to the abiotic filtering of organisms with shared ecological tolerances. Recent theoretical developments suggest that competition can also explain the phylogenetic similarity of coexisting organisms by excluding large low-competitive clades. We propose that combining the en...

Interspecific hybridization in Brassica juncea and Brassica tournefortii through embryo rescue and their evaluation for biotic and abiotic stress tolerance.

Interspecific hybrids were obtained in an otherwise incompatible cross Brassica juncea x Brassica tournefortii through in vitro culture of hybrid embryos. The best response was observed from culture of embryos excised 20 days after pollination on MS medium supplemented with kinetin, alpha-naphthylacetic acid, gibberellic acid, glutamine and casein hydrolysate. One hybrid plant had many distinct...

Transcriptome Analysis of Sunflower Genotypes with Contrasting Oxidative Stress Tolerance Reveals Individual- and Combined- Biotic and Abiotic Stress Tolerance Mechanisms

In nature plants are often simultaneously challenged by different biotic and abiotic stresses. Although the mechanisms underlying plant responses against single stress have been studied considerably, plant tolerance mechanisms under combined stress is not understood. Also, the mechanism used to combat independently and sequentially occurring many number of biotic and abiotic stresses has also n...
